ToDowl: a lighter ClickUp alternative

ClickUp is built for teams: docs, goals, dashboards and several project views, with a lot to configure before it feels like your own. Trello is the simpler end of that same idea - a kanban board and little else. ToDowl sits between them for one person: a task board, calendar, notes and habit tracker that are already set up, without the team-scale settings.

Feature ToDowl ClickUp Trello
Built for One person's day: tasks, calendar, notes, habits and money. Teams and larger projects, with permissions, goals and dashboards. A kanban board for a team or a person, without ClickUp's wider feature set.
Setup time Sign in and the board, calendar and habit grid are already there. Views exist already, but the number of settings takes real time to learn. Quick to start, since a board is all there is to set up.
Calendar view Weekly and monthly calendar built in, color-coded by project. Built-in calendar view with drag-and-drop, plus Gantt and timeline views. No calendar view without a separate Power-Up.
Habit tracker Monthly grid with streaks. No personal habit tracker; recurring tasks and team goals are the closest fit. No habit tracker.

Why switch

  • A board with less to configure

The Kanban and list views are ready as soon as you sign in, organized by project, with no permission scheme to set up first.

  • A calendar built for one person

The weekly and monthly calendar is meant for your own day, not a team's shared roadmap.

  • Notes stay personal

A project-based notes editor is for your own quick capture, not a team wiki.

  • Habits, not just team goals

The monthly habit grid tracks your own streaks, something ClickUp's team-goal features do not cover.
